The spirit of Tadda

Tadda exists to celebrate people, to bring a family and friends together around a single, warm video gift. These guidelines keep that spirit safe for everyone.

They're simple: be kind, respect the consent of the people you film, and never add anything that could harm others.

Be kind and respectful

A Tadda gift is an act of affection. Keep your contributions that way:

  • Speak with warmth, as if the person being honoured were standing right next to you.
  • Respect other people's privacy, and don't share their personal information without their consent.
  • Think of your audience: families, sometimes children, gather around these films.

What's not allowed

To keep Tadda safe and warm, this content and behaviour has no place here:

  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or incitement to violence.
  • Sexual content, exploitation, or any content involving minors inappropriately.
  • Illegal content, or violating other people's rights, including image rights and copyright.
  • Impersonation, fraud, spam, or deceptive links.
  • Violent, shocking, or seriously distressing media.

This list isn't exhaustive; we act against anything that endangers people or the spirit of the service.

Reporting content

If you see content that breaks these rules, report it. Every gift and film offers an option to report it to us, and you can always write to us directly.

Reports stay confidential. Give us as much detail as you can so we can act quickly and fairly.

How we enforce these guidelines

When content breaks these rules, we act proportionately:

  • We may remove the affected content from a gift.
  • We may warn, restrict, or suspend accounts responsible for abuse.
  • In serious cases, we may refer matters to the relevant authorities.

We always aim to be fair and proportionate, protecting the people who were harmed first.

If we get it wrong

We're not perfect. If you think we removed content or took action by mistake, tell us.

Write to us and a real person will review the decision carefully.
